Sorry for the title, but I know JTC was pining to see it in writing.
Lively, boisterous lunchtime editorial meeting regarding the take on last night's failure and what could have been done to change the outcome.
From the other side of the table a string of names from Ruud-carthorse-Nistelrooy and Andy-why didn't Arsenal buy him-Johnson to Frances-flop-Jeffers and way way way beyond... were all mentioned as candidates for doing a better job.
Frankly I don't buy it that ANYONE could have made a difference. There is no way on earth that Henry, Cesc, Hleb, Rosicky and van Persie would miss all the chances that came their way, now is there??? Thank god Arsenal didn't earn a penalty, on the evidence I'd be 100% certain that would have been an embarassing fluff as well!
Bizarre, absurd, hilarious, shambolic, pitiful, as the Daily Mirror put it "Ridiculous, utterly ridiculous", there simply aren't enough words to explain the disbelief of those watching last night.
Reality check, that game is over - doubt you'll see anything like it for a decade - Arsenal are still in control of their destiny, in ALL competitions. Whilst there may be too many draws to feel comfortable, they have lost only twice in 14 match games in all competitions - to hear some people you would think Arsenal's season finished last night.
Be seeing you
